| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Geta facing right, portrayed from behind to show the reverse of the cuirass, rendered in the provincial Roman style characteristic of Pontic civic coinage. The portrait effigy is set within a beaded border, with the Latin legend IMP SEPTI GETA disposed around the periphery of the flan. The die-work is typical of the colonial mint at Sinope, showing a compact, somewhat stylised rendering of the imperial bust. |
