Obverse description Bare head of the emperor Nero facing right or left, rendered in the early portraiture style typical of his reign, with youthful features and short hair. The imperial effigy occupies the central field of the flan. A Latin legend encircles the portrait, identifying the emperor. The coin is struck on a somewhat irregular bronze flan characteristic of provincial Corinthian coinage of the mid-first century AD.
