Obverse description Bare-headed, draped bust of the emperor Nero facing right, rendered in the Julio-Claudian portrait style with characteristically thick, curling hair over the forehead. The drapery is visible at the truncation of the shoulder. A small facing head or bust in a circular incuse appears in the lower right field, possibly a countermark. The Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan.

(Translation: Nero Caesar)
Reverse description Pluto and Persephone seated together in a biga chariot drawn by two horses galloping to the right, a scene referencing the mythological abduction of Persephone and the celebrated Plutonion sanctuary at Hierapolis. The two divine figures are shown in three-quarter view, with Pluto holding the reins. The spoke wheel of the chariot is clearly visible at lower left. The Greek legend of the magistrate's name and civic ethnic is distributed in two lines across the lower field and exergue.
