Obverse description Draped bust of the Roman Senate personified, facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic civic coinage tradition. The legend ΘΕΟΝ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟΝ ('divine Senate') encircles the bust in Greek script, identifying the effigy as a divine or honorific representation of the senatorial body. The portrait is executed in typical provincial workshop style of mid-first century Asia Minor.
