| Obverse description | Bare head of Nero facing right, rendered in the youthful Julio-Claudian portrait style characteristic of his early reign. The effigy displays short, lightly textured hair combed forward over the forehead. The Greek imperial legend ΝΕΡΩΝ ΚΑΙΣΑΡ ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΣ runs around the periphery of the flan, partially visible in the field to the right of the portrait. The overall strike is moderately well-centered on an irregular flan typical of provincial Phrygian bronze coinage. |
