Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Marcus Aurelius facing right, with finely rendered curly hair and beard characteristic of his mature portraiture. The emperor is depicted with a draped shoulder, consistent with provincial civic coinage of the Antonine period. The Greek imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery within a dotted border. The portrait displays the naturalistic Antonine style typical of Bithynian civic issues, with bold relief despite the small module.
