The emperor's characteristic beard and naturalistic portrait features are visible despite moderate wear. A Greek imperial legend encircles the bust within the coin's border.

Reverse description A large serpent coils upward upon a decorated rectangular altar, its head raised and oriented to the right, a motif closely associated with healing cults and the god Asclepius in the Thracian provincial tradition. The altar is rendered with architectural detailing on its stepped base and moulded body. The encircling Greek legend names the issuing city, distributed around the field's periphery.
