| Obverse description | Youthful bare-headed bust of Commodus as Caesar, draped in paludamentum, facing right. The portrait exhibits the characteristic early physiognomy of Commodus as a young prince, with curly hair rendered in low relief. The encircling legend names him as Caesar with the Germanic epithet. The flan is irregular and slightly worn, consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Antonine period. |
