Reverse description A dolphin coiled around a trident, depicted in the centre of the field with the tail curving beneath and the head arching upward toward the trident's tines — a motif evoking maritime symbolism appropriate to the port city of Alexandria. The regnal date legend L ΙΔ (Year 14) is placed in the field to either side of the central device. A dotted border frames the design around the irregular flan edge.
