| Obverse description | Bare head of Aelius Caesar facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Epirote municipal coinage. The portrait is unadorned and undraped, presenting the youthful features of Lucius Aelius, Hadrian's adopted heir. The surrounding field carries the Greek legend Λ ΑΙΛΙΟϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ distributed around the effigy. The flan is irregular, and the surfaces show characteristic patination consistent with ancient bronze provincial issues. |
