Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, seen from the rear, with the radiate crown rendered in relief above the youthful imperial effigy. The paludamentum is visible over the cuirass, and the overall style is consistent with provincial Mesopotamian die-cutting of the mid-third century. A continuous Greek legend surrounds the bust within the coin's border.
