| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the front, with the radiate crown's spikes clearly articulated. The imperial paludamentum is visible over the cuirass, conveying military authority. The encircling Greek legend names the emperor in full imperial titulature, running along the periphery of the flan. |
