| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, portrayed in three-quarter view from the front, with the radiate crown clearly indicating imperial status. The effigy displays military dress with visible pauldron and pteruges, characteristic of provincial bronze coinage of the mid-third century. The Greek imperial titulature encircles the bust as a continuous legend around the periphery of the flan. |
