| Obverse description | Radiate, draped bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, the radiate crown rendered with clearly defined spikes, drapery visible on the left shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Mesopotamian civic issues of the mid-third century AD. The circular Greek legend runs around the periphery within a dotted border. |
