Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, with a short, light beard rendered in the youthful Antonine style. The effigy displays the emperor in military or imperial dress, with the laureate wreath visible atop the head. The surrounding legend encircles the portrait in Latin. The style is consistent with provincial Roman coinage struck at the Corinthian mint during the reign of Commodus (177–192 AD).
