| Obverse description | Draped bearded male bust facing right, tentatively identified as either Poseidon or the poet Anakreon, both associated with Teos. An uncertain object — possibly a trident or thyrsus — appears to the left of the bust in the field. The legend ΤΗΙΩΝ is disposed around the bust, identifying the civic issuing authority of Teos. The style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Antonine period, with moderately detailed drapery and a strongly profiled bearded visage. |
