Obverse description Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her hair elaborately waved and coiled at the nape in the empress's characteristic style. The effigy is rendered in typical Severan provincial style, with folds of the drapery visible at the truncation. The encircling Greek legend reads ΙΟΥΛΙΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ, identifying the subject as Julia Augusta.

Reverse description The cult statue of Artemis of Ephesus (Artemis Ephesia) standing facing, depicted in the canonical xoanon form with a turreted polos crown, her body encased in a tight sheath adorned with multiple rows of oval protuberances, with a stag flanking each side at her feet. The composition closely replicates the celebrated idol housed in the Ephesian sanctuary, reflecting Philadelphia's neocorate status. The Greek legend ΦΛ ΦΙΛΑ ΝΕΩΚΟΡ surrounds the type in the field.
