Obverse description Laureate head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the idealized Hellenistic portrait style characteristic of early Imperial provincial coinage. The laurel wreath is visible atop the emperor's head, with facial features rendered in low relief. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, reading ΚΑΙΣΑΡ ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΣ ΑΝΤΙΟΧΕΩΝ, identifying the portrait as Caesar Augustus in the name of the Antiochians. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show heavy patination consistent with extended burial.
