| Reverse description | The ethnic legend ΤΙΑΝΩΝ, denoting the citizens of Tium in Bithynia, is inscribed within a laurel wreath whose tied base is visible at the bottom of the field. The wreath, formed of two symmetrical branches bound at the lower extremity, fills nearly the entire reverse and is characteristic of the civic bronze coinage of Bithynian cities during the Antonine period. The field is deeply patinated and the coin exhibits the irregular flan typical of provincial hammered bronze issues. |
