Obverse description Bare laureate head of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of the Lydian mint at Daldis. The portrait displays the characteristic strong features of Trajan's imperial effigy. The encircling Greek legend reads ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ ϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor as Trajan Caesar Augustus. The flan is slightly irregular, as is common for struck bronze issues of this region and period.
