| Reverse description | A pendant bunch of grapes suspended from a vine branch, positioned above a pedum (shepherd's crook), rendered in low relief at the centre of the field. This viticultural type alludes to the agricultural prosperity of the Pontic region and was a common civic emblem on coinage of Tium. The ethnic legend ΤΕΙΑΝΩΝ, identifying the city of Tium, is placed in the field. The surface shows characteristic brown patina with areas of earthen encrustation consistent with prolonged burial. |
