(Translation: Tiberius Caesar)
Reverse description Apollo standing facing right, his himation draped about his lower body, holding a kithara (lyre) and plucking its strings with both hands. The figure is rendered in a hieratic, frontal-leaning style consistent with provincial Greek artistic conventions of the early Imperial period. The multi-line Greek legend occupies the left field, recording the civic ethnic of Hierapolis and the name and honorific title of the local magistrate Zosimos Hieroneikes. The flan edges are irregular and show typical casting and hammering characteristics of Phrygian civic bronzes.
