| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Epirote civic coinage of the early 2nd century AD. The Greek legend ΚΑΙϹΑΡ ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟϹ is disposed around the bust in the field. The flan is irregular and the die work, though worn, retains the characteristic portraiture of Hadrian's early reign. |
