| Reverse description | Turreted and draped bust of the Tyche of Edessa facing right, wearing a mural crown symbolising the city's walls and sovereignty. The goddess is depicted with drapery at the shoulder, rendered in the local provincial style with bold, somewhat schematic relief typical of Edessan coinage. The surrounding Greek legend identifies the issuing city as the Colonia Marcia Edessa. The flan edges are irregular, consistent with hand-struck provincial production of the Severan era. |
