| Obverse description | Laureate head of the emperor Commodus facing right, rendered in the typical provincial style of the Bithynian mint. The portrait displays the characteristic features of Commodus with a wreath of laurel encircling the head. A circular Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature. The flan is slightly irregular, as is common for provincial bronze issues of this period. |
