Obverse description Bare-headed, draped bust of Zeus Akraios facing right, rendered with long flowing hair and a full beard in the Hellenistic tradition. The bust is set within a dotted border, with the circular Greek legend distributed around the periphery of the field. The reverse-form Zeta (Ζ reversed) in the inscription is a notable die characteristic. The portraiture exhibits the idealized, mature physiognomy conventionally associated with the supreme deity in Ionian civic coinage of the Antonine period.
