| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Marcus Aurelius as Caesar, facing right, with short curly hair and a nascent beard rendered in the provincial style. The portrait displays the characteristic physiognomy of the young co-regent, with a broad forehead and full cheeks. A partially legible Greek legend surrounds the effigy in the field. The flan is irregular and the strike somewhat soft, typical of Cilician provincial bronze coinage of the mid-second century AD. |
