Obverse description Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Valerian II facing right, rendered in three-quarter rear view, a presentation typical of provincial bronze coinage of the mid-third century AD. The portrait is set within a beaded border, with the Greek legend disposed around the periphery of the field. The style reflects the local workshop tradition of Prusias ad Hypium in Bithynia, with somewhat summary engraving characteristic of the period.
