Additional information

Tiberiopolis was a minor Lydian city whose civic coinage under Trajan represents one of the more obscure corners of provincial bronze production in the Sardis conventus. The city's name honored the Julio-Claudian dynasty long after that house had fallen, a piece of local political memory that outlasted its relevance by decades.

At 2.36g, this piece sits toward the lighter end of known specimens for the type.
