| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Trajan facing right, with bare neck, depicted in the provincial Greek style typical of the Dodecanesian mint of Cos. The portrait is rendered with characteristic Imperial gravitas, the laurel wreath clearly visible atop the head. The Greek legend ΚΑΙϹΑΡ ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟϹ runs around the periphery of the flan, partially visible on this heavily worn example. |
