Reverse description Full-length frontal cult statue of Artemis Ephesia (Ephesian Artemis) standing erect on a base or plinth, her body rendered in the rigid, xoanon-like manner characteristic of her cult image, with multiple rows of breast-like protuberances on the torso and lateral supports or stags flanking the figure. The reverse legend, naming the local magistrate Varus and the city of the Cotiaeans, is arranged in a circular inscription around the periphery within a beaded border.
