Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Septimius Severus facing right, with short curly hair and beard rendered in the characteristic Severan style. The emperor is depicted with draped and cuirassed shoulders, facing right. The Greek imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery of the flan, beginning with the abbreviation for Autocrator Caesar. The die work is typical of provincial Bithynian coinage of the late 2nd to early 3rd century AD.
