Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of Emperor Nero facing right, rendered in a somewhat summary provincial style consistent with local Cretan colonial coinage. The portrait displays the characteristic youthful features associated with early Neronian issues, with a slightly fleshy profile and short hair. A fragmentary Latin legend encircles the bust, partially preserved. The flan is irregular and the surfaces exhibit heavy green patination typical of bronze colonial issues struck under provincial authority.
