Reverse description A figure identified tentatively as Artemis appears seated in a biga drawn by a galloping stag (or pair of stags) moving to the left, depicted in a dynamic composition characteristic of provincial bronzes struck at Nicopolis ad Istrum or Nicopolis in Epirus. The reverse type is heavily worn, making precise iconographic attribution uncertain. The mint ethnic legend ΝΙΚΟΠΟΛΕωϹ is distributed in the field or along the periphery. The overall style is consistent with the struck small bronzes of Epirote Nicopolis under Marcus Aurelius.
