| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, seen from the rear, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial style typical of Galatian civic coinage of the mid-third century AD. A Latin legend surrounds the bust, partially visible along the outer border of the flan. The flan is slightly irregular, as characteristic of struck provincial bronzes of this period. |

| Reverse description | The figure of Marsyas is depicted advancing to the left in a dynamic pose, his right arm raised and his left hand gripping a wineskin slung over his shoulder. This type is closely associated with the civic coinage of Iconium and serves as a symbol of the colony's Roman status, as the statue of Marsyas in the Roman Forum traditionally stood in coloniae as an emblem of civic freedom. The legend COL ICONIEN with the notation S R surrounds the figure, distributed across the field. The relief is worn but the iconographic type remains identifiable. |
