Obverse description Bare or lightly laureate head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition with idealized features. The legend ϹΕΒΑϹΤΟΥ ΛΑΜΨΑΚΗ is distributed around the effigy in Greek characters, identifying the coin as an issue of Augustus struck by the Lampsacenes. The portrait displays a strong profile with a prominent nose and finely detailed hair, consistent with Augustan provincial coinage of Asia Minor. The flan is slightly irregular and the die work reflects the local workshop style of Lampsacus.
