Obverse description Bare head of the emperor Commodus facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Bithynian civic coinage. The portrait displays the emperor's youthful features with curled hair, consistent with early to mid-reign representations. A partially legible Greek legend surrounds the effigy in the field, abbreviated to read the imperial titulature. The flan is irregular and the strike somewhat flat, typical of small provincial bronze issues of the period.
