Reverse description Zeus enthroned left on a high-backed throne, his upper body bare, extending his right hand forward with an eagle perched upon it, and holding a long sceptre in his left hand. A monogram appears in the left field. The ethnic legend ΗΡΑΚΛΕΩΤΑΝ is inscribed in the right field and along the exergue, followed by the letters Ε and ΟΓ, likely denoting a civic era date or magistrate abbreviation. The type follows the well-established Heraclean civic reverse tradition of depicting the city's patron deity Zeus.
