| Reverse description | An owl, the emblematic bird of Athena, stands facing on a two-handled amphora set on a plain ground line, rendered in a compact, stylised manner characteristic of provincial Phrygian coinage. The magistrate's name and title appear in Greek letters distributed around the central type in the field and along the lower periphery. The die-work is bold if somewhat roughly executed, consistent with civic issues of Synnada under the reign of Claudius. |
