| Obverse description | Bare-headed and draped bust of Nero as a youth facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Ephesian civic coinage under Claudius. The youthful effigy displays short, neatly arranged hair over the forehead. The abbreviated civic ethnic legend ΕΦΕ (for Ephesus) appears in the field to the left of the bust. A dotted border encircles the design. |

| Reverse description | The iconic cult statue of Artemis Ephesia depicted facing front in the orans position, flanked by the characteristic lateral supports or pillars that form part of her ceremonial platform, faithfully reproducing the archaic xoanon venerated in the great Temple of Artemis at Ephesus. The figure is shown with the distinctive stacked superstructure and tight lower body typical of the cult image. The entire composition is set within a wreath border. The magistrate's legend ΚΟΥΣΙΝΙΟΣ ΤΟ Δ (identifying the grammateus Kousiniοs in his fourth term of office) is distributed around the figure within the wreath. |
