Obverse description Laureate head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of the Augustan era. The laurel wreath is visible encircling the imperial effigy, and the legend ϹΕΒΑϹΤΟΥ ('of Augustus') appears in the field. The portrait displays the characteristic idealized features associated with Augustan coinage in the Greek East. The flan is irregular in shape, as is common for struck bronzes of this provincial series.
