Additional information

Attaea was a minor Mysian city of limited political weight, and its civic bronze output under Antoninus Pius was correspondingly sparse. Issues attributable to this municipality are underrepresented in major collections, not from ancient attrition alone but because the city simply minted in small volumes — local bronze rarely traveled far, and what survived did so largely by accident of soil chemistry rather than deliberate preservation.
