Obverse description Draped bust of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet and aegis. The figure is rendered in low relief with summary detail characteristic of provincial bronze coinage. The helmet crest and aegis border are discernible despite the worn surfaces.

Reverse description A kalathos (sacred basket or cista) containing five poppy heads or stalks arranged upright, a motif closely associated with the cult of Demeter and the agricultural symbolism of Elaea. The design is rendered in low relief with the poppies rising prominently from within the basket, occupying the central field. The ethnic legend of the issuing city appears around the reverse field.
