Reverse description An eagle stands in three-quarter view facing left atop a cippus (a low cylindrical or block-shaped funerary or boundary marker), its wings partially spread and head turned to the right. The bird is rendered with considerable detail, emphasizing its powerful talons gripping the cippus. A wreath or garland decorates the base of the cippus. The circular Greek legend naming the magistrate Gaios Postomos and the city of Laodicea surrounds the central type.
