Obverse description Laureate, cuirassed bust of Marcus Aurelius facing right, the emperor's features rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Bithynian civic coinage. The obverse legend ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝΟϹ ΑΥΓ runs around the periphery, identifying the emperor by his adoptive name Antoninus Augustus. The flan is small and irregular, and the die is somewhat worn, consistent with the modest production standards of local municipal issues of the Antonine period.
