| Reverse description | Frontal cult statue of Artemis Leukophryene, the principal deity of Magnesia ad Maeandrum, depicted standing erect in a rigid, xoanon-like pose with arms extended horizontally and adorned with multiple rows of pendants or breast-like ornaments on the torso, imitating the famous chryselephantine cult image housed in the Artemision at Magnesia. The figure wears a polos headdress and is flanked by stags or decorative elements in the field. The Greek legend ΛΕΥΚΟΦΡΥϹ, the epithet of Artemis at this mint, is distributed around the figure in the field. |
