| Reverse description | A river god reclines to the left in the classical Hellenistic tradition, his semi-draped figure leaning upon the ground line, holding a reed in one hand and a cornucopia in the other, symbols of the river's life-giving abundance. The magistrate's inscription ΕΠΙ ΖΩΙΛΟΥ is disposed in the lower field, identifying the civic official Zoilos under whose authority the coin was issued. The type is enclosed within a beaded border, consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Flavian period. |
