| Obverse description | Bare laureate bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, depicted in the provincial Greek style typical of Bithynian civic coinage. The effigy shows the emperor with characteristic short curled hair and laurel wreath. A partial Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan, though the strike is somewhat weak and the coin exhibits an irregular flan edge. The portrait retains the recognizable physiognomy of Commodus as seen on contemporary provincial issues. |
