Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, with draped shoulders visible, set within a circular legend. The portrait exhibits the characteristic heavy features associated with Commodan imperial coinage, rendered in provincial style. The surrounding Greek legend, partially preserved, reads ]ΛΙΟC ΚΟΜΟΔΟC CЄ, identifying the Roman emperor. The die work is typical of the Edessene mint, combining Roman imperial iconography with local provincial craftsmanship.
