| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of Emperor Claudius facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Asia Minor civic coinage. The portrait displays the emperor's characteristic features with a wreath of laurel encircling the head. A circular Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan, naming the emperor in the nominative case. The relief is moderately high, consistent with hammered bronze provincial issues of the Julio-Claudian period. |
